Our Curriculum

The 4 Pillars of Learning

Language & Literacy

Children are immersed in rich language experiences that support communication, vocabulary, listening, and a love of books, stories, and print. Through meaningful play and exploration, they build the foundation for strong early literacy skills.

STEAM

Children explore science, technology, engineering, art, and math through hands-on experiences that inspire curiosity and creativity.
They are encouraged to ask questions, test ideas, solve problems, and make discoveries as they learn through play and inquiry.

Physical Activity and Nutrition

Children build a strong foundation for healthy living through active play, outdoor movement, and nutritious food choices.
We support physical development, energy, and overall wellbeing by encouraging movement, healthy habits, and opportunities to explore a variety of foods.

Mindful Awareness

Children build self-regulation, calm, and emotional awareness through mindful activities, quiet spaces, breathing, and gentle movement.
We support each child in managing emotions, and developing positive social skills in a safe and caring environment.

How Does Learning Happen?
Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years

At Little Minds Early Learning Centre, we believe children learn best through authentic, caring relationships and rich experiences that foster a strong sense of belonging. Guided by Ontario’s How Does Learning Happen?, we see each child as competent, capable, and full of potential, and we create environments where children can explore, inquire, and learn through play.

We also value families as essential partners and work closely with them to support each child’s growth, well-being, and development. Through thoughtful programming, reflective practice, and purposeful documentation, we aim to make learning visible and support children as they grow socially, emotionally, physically, creatively, and cognitively.
